Sara and the Babies
12x12
Oil on Panel
This is one of those paintings that I REALLY want to paint much bigger than I know my life can manage right now. But rather than wait, I have resigned myself to paint the paintings that are inspiring me, just keep it small.
I could not wait to paint this image any longer. It is such a beautiful moment. I have sketched it out multiple times, and I have been itching to try it out with paint. I have learned soooo much with this experience. It has me very excited to start the next one.
I pulled this image from a friends blog. Technically though, I did take the picture. She was so picturesque standing over by the water with her twins. We share of love of photography so I took the liberty of grabbing her camera and started snapping pictures. She had no idea I had the camera at this point. Could she be more breathtaking! In my experience, most of the women and mothers I know are so humble they have no idea how breathtaking they truly are. It has become an unofficial mission of mine to try and help them have a glimpse of what the rest of us see in them.....inspired beauty!
Awesome, Jamie. You captured the moment perfectly. We'll have to come up to your beach again this summer
ReplyDeleteOh Jamie, I love it. You did such a beautiful job. I love your style and the colors are so great. I feel so lucky that you spent your time and talents on our little unit here. What a treasure.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sara and Nate. I am glad you like it. It will take a little while to tack up..it is pretty thick in places. But it is yours if you want it:)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. Sarah is the perfect model of motherhood.
ReplyDeleteYou already know how I feel about this painting, such a beautiful moment, and such a beautiful painting. (Note the time on this comment, still wide awake.... even after repairing a small kitchen, organizing one craft room, 4 loads of laundry washed, folded, and put away, one batch of chocolate covered strawberries......hmmmm I noticed my fridge was in need of a cleaning...)
